DIY LADDER GOLF GAME

DIY LADDER GOLF GAME

You may or may not have heard of Ladder Golf, also known as Ladder Toss. Maybe you have seen someone playing this game but didn’t know what to call it. Players score points by throwing two golf balls connected by a rope at a ladder, usually made of PVC pipe. When the rope connecting the golf balls raps around the pipe on the ladder and stays, the player scores. It is a very easy and inexpensive game to make. It’s a great addition to barbeques, camping trips, tailgates, or just to have in your backyard as an everyday outdoor activity. You can get everything you need at the hardware store except maybe the golf balls. Here’s how you make it:

  1. To build a ladder, you will need 3 - 2ft pieces of ¾” PVC pipe and 10 – 1ft pieces. To connect the pieces, you will need 2 – ¾” PVC elbows and 6 tees. Look at a picture of a ladder made by some else and connect the pipe and fittings as you see in the picture. The 2ft pipes make up the horizontal parts of the ladder at which the balls are thrown. Everything else is pretty self-explanatory.

  2. To construct the object that is thrown, you need two golf balls and a 2ft piece of 3/8” nylon rope. Drill a 3/8” hole in each golf ball. Feed the rope through both balls and tie a knot at each end of the rope.

You’re done! You can paint your ladder (or ladders) and use different color golf balls if you like. Rules vary, but I would Google the rules for Ladder Golf and pick the set of rules you like.
